Evaluation of Volatile Organic Compounds from Broccoli Plants Infested with Myzus persicae and Parasitoids Aphidius colemani Attraction

چکیده

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from uninfested and infested broccoli plant samples with green peach aphid Myzus persicae were investigated by headspace solid microextraction (HS-SPME) combined gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Overall, 25 identified in plants. The HS-SPME GC-MS analysis of the volatiles described differences between samples. Based on peak area analysis, VOCs significantly greater than that broccoli, such as D-limonene, Undecane, 3,4-dimethyl-, Heptane, alpha-Pinene, Oxalic acid, Citronellol, Tridecane, n-Decanoic Cyclopentane, pentyl- n-Hexadecanoic acid compared released broccoli. results Y-tube olfactometer showed attracted plants, more plants or clean air. percentage choice was 70% towards 10% to air With comparison aphids 84% for while 7% Comparing uninfested, 26.6% versus 30% preferences Aphidus colemani infested, M. measured. indicated parasitoids could discriminate respond odour attractive 100% parasitoid

Olfactory response of two aphid parasitoids, Lysiphlebus testaceipes and Aphidius colemani , to aphid-infested plants from a distance

The role of volatile stimuli in the host-searching behaviour of the two parasitoid species Lysiphlebus testaceipes Cresson and Aphidius colemani Viereck (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) was studied in relation to the host Aphis gossypii Glover (Homoptera: Aphididae) on cucumber plants, Cucumis sativa L. (Cucurbitaceae). Experiments were carried out in the laboratory in a wind tunnel, exposing individu...

Infection of host plants by Cucumber mosaic virus increases the susceptibility of Myzus persicae aphids to the parasitoid Aphidius colemani

Plant viruses can profoundly alter the phenotypes of their host plants, with potentially far-reaching implications for ecology. Yet few studies have explored the indirect, host-mediated, effects of plant viruses on non-vector insects. We examined how infection of Cucurbita pepo plants by Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) impacted the susceptibility of aphids (Myzus persicae) to attack by the parasito...

Infection of potato plants with potato leafroll virus changes attraction and feeding behaviour of Myzus persicae

Potato leafroll virus (PLRV; genus Polerovirus , family Luteoviridae) is a persistently transmitted circulative virus that depends on aphids for spreading. The primary vector of PLRV is the aphid Myzus persicae (Sulzer) (Homoptera: Aphididae). Solanum tuberosum L. potato cv. Kardal (Solanaceae) has a certain degree of resistance to M. persicae : young leaves seem to be resistant, whereas senesc...

detection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts

in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...

Greenhouse Trials of Aphidius Colemani (hymenoptera: Braconidae) Banker Plants for Control of Aphids (hemiptera: Aphididae) in Greenhouse Spring Floral Crops

Banker plants with Aphidius colemani Viereck were tested in greenhouses in Massachusetts and New York for control of cotton aphid Aphis gossypii Glover, and green peach aphid Myzus persicae (Sulzer) on 2 spring flower crops, pansies ( Viola tricolor hortensis ) and Marguerite daisies ( Argyranthemum hybrid). Banker plants consisted of pots of barley plants infested with the bird cherry-oat aphi...
